Day 2 · Monday, 25 May 2026 — the temple steps into the rhythm that will hold for the next nine days.
What unfolded today
The morning opened at 5:30 AM with the Temple Opening, followed at sunrise by the Ganapathi Homam — invoking the remover of obstacles to guard the unfolding Yajna. The Usha Pooja at 7:00 AM marked the first formal worship of the day.
Through the forenoon, the Ucha Pooja · Chatu-Shuddhi · Dhara preceded the cleansing rites of the Panchagavyam · Panchaka Poojas · Abhishekams — the sacred fivefold cleansing of the sanctum and its instruments.
In the evening, the temple re-opened at 5:30 PM for Deeparaadhana · Angura Pooja · Sthala Shudhi, closing under the Tantri’s hand with the Athazha Pooja at 8:00 PM.
Significance
The Panchagavyam (mixture of cow’s five sacred substances) and the Panchaka Poojas establish the field of purity that the deity’s prana will enter. With Ganapathi blessing the day’s start, the Yajna’s structural foundation is now set for the energising rituals of the days ahead.
